Sorry, by "original photo" I mean the first one you posted that's 'shopped, but without the nose treatment.

Wow that car is nice the way it is! I'd just throw some new wheels on it and leave it alone :)

sorry here's the picture i started with.

i do agree it is an amazing car, almost no rust, which up here, is a miracle, but the drivers side 1/4 is eaten through right after the wheel well, and the original paint is fading and peeling along the hood and roof.

something more liike:

?

Take all else off except middle of hood... make it follow up the roof the width of the back of the hood down the trunk... maybe split it down the whole center to make more a two stripe effect rather than one big one...

I'm voting "No". It just doesn't fit the car. On a Stang, I'd say yes. On these cars, I say "more subtle".

+1

Every time I see a paint job like that I think RED NECK:mullet:!

I'm thinking along these lines, or stopping at the hood (better), or one continuous stripe across the hood (worse).  Body color for the the front rub strips.  Put  "Eliminator", "XR-7", "302", "5.0", "Five Liter" or similar in the gap.  And maybe ditch the factory pinstriping.

In any case, the first thing is to ditch the covers for some nice wheels.  If you aren't satisfied after that, visit the local art/craft store for some tempra paint and go to town.  If you like it, drive it to the painter then and there.

That said, I'm with most other people here - less is more, these cars are really picky about decoration.

That said, it's your car so do what YOU want.

That's it.

BTW, will you really need hood pins?  The hood latch on mine has never failed.  Ever.

mine are more of a necessity, the hood will pop up on me when i go over a bump. its the last thing i need when im doin 110 down the highway. im trying to keep them subtle, the ones i have are really small, they probably wont be as big as the picture suggests.

I freaked out when you said 110 on the freeway, then I remembered you're in Canada. KMH:p

Its easy to fix the hood latch. Use it as an excuse for a TC hood with the scoops. Hood pins are a waste of money on a stock hood. I'd drill a hole and bolt it down before I'd buy hood pins.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Id love a tc hood. downside is nobody around me has one, I havent even seen a fox body in my junkyard for a few months now.

Well Im not entirely sure on the strips now, sadly feeling kind of lazy, just wanting my mechanical done. although, Im still doing the lettering on the side, roughly same spot, or possibly just below the "LS" thats on the fender, but overall i found the lettering i was looking for:
