I know some of us here are gamers...console AND pc, and I was wondering, if anyone here has hacked or otherwise modded a Wii to play copied games?

I know it can be done, and the basics of how it's done. I've watched people do it, but haven't yet taken the plunge....and I don't have the means right now to get a couple files I need, which is where the thread comes in. I've looked on a bay with pirates, but that ship done sailed, so to speak.

So, anybody got a bone to throw out for me? :hick:

I um, hear that it's simple. Soft mod ftw.

Stay off the public torrent sites.

I also hear that a root kit is available for PS3?

I've got just what you're looking for. I've done this to my Wii, and I've been fine for literally years. Nintendo doesn't care much about piracy, they don't go after people like Sony has been.

Follow the directions in that thread. It'll tell you everything you need to know. It's much easier if you didn't update your firmware to 4.3, the latest version. 4.2 is the best to be on right now. You will need a SD card at the very least. After that, you can either burn .iso files to a DVD-R and run them, or better yet, off of a external USB hard drive.

Join that forum if you want, they will not give you links to illegal downloads, so don't ask. Read the stickies in the Wii section before posting. Search too :D I'm a member there, same username. Definitely one of the best resources for Nintendo console hacking. Check out the DS section as well, if you have a DS. Running pirated games on a DS is far, far easier. It just requires buying a flash cart and a micro SD card.

I didn't update, it was on the console when we got it lol. Brand new, 4.3u, hence my problem with modding it ;)

Ah, I see. Well, you'll need to buy one of the games they mention then. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is an excellent game, but the other 3 are probably cheaper (and harder to find).
