tail pipes? and intakes?

i have been checking out the pics and you guys have got some sweet looking cars! i have noticed a lot of nice straight angle cut pipes - mustang lx crome tipped? im guessing . right now i have a do it fast to make it kinda quiet 2.5 dual setup that i made at work ( fringe bennies- pipe bender)  but it isnt shiny! i tried a set of stang pipes we had laying around  but they didnt fit for . i can get new mustang cat back kits for cheap but id like to get one that i know will work good..... ideas? also does anyone know if the cobra or gt40 intake will clear the hood on my 88 sport 5.0 ho stang transplant i do have the tc hood . as i can acspoogeulate pennies i have big hopes for this car. there arent many fast cars in my neck of hickvill  :hick:  but this will be one that people talk about   i hope!

To answer your question if the cobra or gt-40 manifolds will fit. They will clear the hood with no problems. That is unless your motor is sitting differently than the factory specs. Someone else can chime in and correct me if I'm wrong but I think weasle's motor is sitting higher so he had to use a cowl induction hood so it would clear his cobra manifold. I have the cobra manifold on my car and the hood fits with no problems. The TC hood will also clear.

Cobra manifold will work just fine.
Also i've got a mac mustang cat back on my t-bird,was modified to fit by cutting and extending the intermediate pipes, overaxle at the top of the bend, cutting off the mustang hangers from the crome tail pipes, then adding 18" crome 3" tips and having them welded on.
Finally weld ywo hangers to fit the bird on the rear top of the tips and your done.
Here's a pic of the rear.

I've got dynomax mustang pipes out back extended 3 1/2" behind the s and then extended again after the axle to go just past the bumper and painted black (to match the car - stealth)  future plans are for a factory like turn down tucked up behind the bumper.  Don't need to see it when you can hear it :tg:
