How to undone back window trim clips?

I got the bottom one off it was just two screws but when i tried to use clip puller tool, i guess that is what its called, on the rest and it wouldn't grab them and my buddy told me that they where flat clips and so i was wondering if any of you have any tips to help me get them off(I want them off so i can paint them black properly), Plus is there anyway to get the chrome trim around the top of the windows off without destroying them.

I used my clip tool, it looks like an arrow shape at the end, it worked fine to get the trim off. But I did break a couple clips trying to get them off the holders, And they are really hard to find. It's a mac MR215.
