Looking for C3 master overhaul kit October 11, 2010, 09:33:05 AM Hi guys, I'm looking for Ford C3 transmission overhaul kit, which contains also components for valve body rebuild. I can find only standard overhaul kits without valve body components (although they are called "master" RK). Can you send me some links with correct kit I'm looking for, pls? I've found tons of theese kits for AOD, C4, A4LDE,... but nothing for C3 :(. Quote Selected

If you are looking for the valves themselves, you will need to buy those individually as they are not normally replaced during an overhaul. Master kits typically include:All the Seals (and some extras for model variations)Pan gasketVB sealsStealsFrictionsSometime check ballsPump gasketI know you are out of country, but try sending them an email listing your questions. I have bought stuff for 2 transmissions from bulk-part and their stuff worked great. Quote Selected
Looking for C3 master overhaul kit Reply #2 – October 11, 2010, 03:36:03 PM If this is true, I can buy this kit from RockAuto. They send to the Czech Republic without problems. But where can I find (and buy) the aditional pieces for valve body? Quote Selected
Looking for C3 master overhaul kit Reply #3 – October 11, 2010, 04:12:06 PM Valves may be a dealer item, if you can still get them. Might want to check with some local Transmission parts houses. You can check with Sonnax. They make repair sleeves and a bunch of service parts for a wide range of transmissions. They may have the parts you need.Have you inspected your valves? Do you know they need replacing?-Dan Quote Selected
Looking for C3 master overhaul kit Reply #4 – October 11, 2010, 04:32:43 PM I probably don't need the valves, but maybe the springs. I discussed it with one guy here, he repairs automatic transmissions and he told me, that it's better to change also the springs, because they may be softer, than is acceptable. We will take the transmission out of the car probably this or next week. Than we will inspect all parts and I have to find the reason, why the tranny does noise in 3rd gear. I hope, that the problem will be easily fixed with the overhaul kit.The noise is only in 3rd gear. While cruising 50 - 60 km/h it clicks. When I go faster, than aprox. 80 - 90 km/h it beggins to do terrible noise similar to loud boiling watter. It stops after slowing down. Quote Selected
Looking for C3 master overhaul kit Reply #5 – October 11, 2010, 04:51:28 PM Ah...I hadn't thought about the springs. I would check a ford stealership. Sounds like a bad bearing. Your sure its not a wheel bearing, pinion bearing, or U-joint? Quote Selected
Looking for C3 master overhaul kit Reply #6 – October 12, 2010, 12:26:04 PM Definitely sure. Rear axle was rebuilt in June and it's fine. Tranny does more strange things, not only this, but this is the worst. At the beggining, I thought, that it is the right front wheel bearing. I changed both of them, because I had curved rotors, so I did it at the same time. Suprisingly, it didn't change anything. Then I was at the Tuning Salon here in Brno and when I was comming back I was looking for the source of this annoying noise. In approx 70 km/h I changed gear to 2 and it shut up.Other problems are occasional oil leaks and very harsh kick downs (although the KD cable is set to its latest position). I keep the oil level above MIN mark, so I think I have a lot of reasons to rebuid the tranny.PS: European Ford doesn't communicate with FMC in the US and C3 transmission was never used in any european car, so I have a problem :(.
