New winter beater...

Ok, what's got 4 cylinders, a single overhead cam, an intercooled turbo, a 5-speed tranny, and a redline just as pathetically low as an SO 5.0?

A turbo diesel Volkswagen! In particular, a '99 TDI Jetta.

I know, I know, I sold the T-Bird to reduce the fleet, but I couldn't pass this deal up (paid $1200, these things usually go for $2500+), and 50+ MPG for my daily commute (compared to the 25 I get in the 300 and the 18 I get in the Cherokee) means this car will pay for itself just in gas savings. Then, come spring, I can sell it and double my money :D
