sequential rear lights

Has anyone installed the sequential turn signal wiring in their birds/cougars?

Since nobody wants my 86 I'm thinking that is one mod I'd like to do since it does have three lights on each side.

If so what did you use?  A modified Mustang kit?

I do believe the 83-86 only have two lights per side with no room for a third. Cougars have three, as do 87-88 T-Birds.

I'll have to check it out.  I've owned it for quite some time but I have only driven it 3 or 4 times.  I could've sworn it had three but I've been known to be wrong before.:D

Of course this all depends on the 82 Cougar Wagon being shipped out of here soon.

I am always jealous of Cougars and 87-88 Birds!

83-86 only have two bulb sections for the brake/turn/tail lamps. 83-84 taillamps are not suitible for sequential conversion because of the back-up lamps centered in the lens. 85-86 has a solid uninterrupted red lens. I have been trying to figure out an inexpensive way to convert to sequentials without resorting to very expensive classic Shelby LED kits. There is plenty of room for LED boards. I was figuring three square or rectangular LED boards in each taillamp. This is so low on my priority list right now that it is on my someday list.

The sequentials are at the bottom of my to do list.  My car is taupe color and will go to black including all the window trim.  I will probably start cleaning/removing trim this weekend.  I only have a couple of mechanical things to fix.  Once warmed up the engine does not return to idle quickly, and the high pressure a/c hose is shot and has a slow leak.  Otherwise it's all dirt and grease.;)

There's almost no body work to do.  A couple of small dings.  Most of the work will be the heater core and headliner etc.  Luckily the original owner kept seat covers on the car so the cloth is like new.  The radio is toast.  So the turn signals are a low priortity.
