Anybody know how to hook up a relay (SOLVED) Reply #2 – September 03, 2010, 08:47:03 PM Well, I want to hook up my e-fan. I plan on running the main power straight from the battery, with an in-line fuse, but I don't want it to run constantly, which it will do if hooked to the battery. So, I plan on using the relay to have the ignition circuit turn it on. I googled it and finally figured it out. For anyones future information:There are 4 pins on the relay. These can be connected with 1/4"(.250") female quick connect terminals. The terminals on the relay are numbered: 30, 85, 86, 87. This is what they connect to:1. 12v+ Signal in(alt. out, ignition, etc) (86)2. 12+ in(from battery) (30)3. 12+ out(to fan, etc) (87)4. Ground (85) Quote Selected

Anybody know how to hook up a relay (SOLVED) Reply #4 – September 03, 2010, 10:29:29 PM I was about to post up the diagram for you-I have a suggestion(only my opinion). I think you should get an adjustable fan control setup-theyre about $60. I know the relay is easier and cheaper but an electric fan is not meant to be run all the time-you'll shorten the motors life. With the fan controller setup the fan would only come on when the car reached a set temp. Just something to think about. Quote Selected
