need help from some NJ guys!

so here's the deal.. i'm looking at a mustang hatch with no title.. has anyone here done a title search in NJ to obtain the title? i knew someone who did it in the past, but for the life of me, can't remember who it was. i know right off the bat, i need a bill of sale, but what from that point on? i called my local DMV office and the woman at the desk didn't have a clue.. and it's a waste of time to try calling trenton, i spent 45 minutes on hold before hanging up.

any input from someone who's done so is a huge help.. thanks in advance
