Cat Back Choice+ Dynomax Rebate

I am in the process of putting together my exhaust(fox headers and Bassani X pipe), and it has come time to pick a cat back.

I picked up the X pipe cheap, and I have never run one, so I kind of wanted to check it out. I have read they sound best with a straight through ler, but Im also trying to do this project on the tightest budget possible.

I noticed on Jegs.com Dynomax has a $75 rebate on cat backs. Thats pretty strong.

I can get:

2.25" Aluminized LX Super Turbo cat back for 207-75=$132

2.5 Aluminized LX S.T. cat back for 262-75=$187

Or probably best to do:

2.5 Aluminzed Ultra Flo(straight through, BUT GT TAILS) for 292-75= $217

That Ultra Flow price is great, and for a great system, but honestly, the 2.25 would probably flow plenty(for me), and install easier.

What say you?

LX tails are longer, as are our birds/cats. Which motor are you going with? I would do 2.5 LX tails myself.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

If you get the LX mustang tail pipes then you will need minimum 16" chrome tips. I made sure I got all aluminized tail pipes. I did that and wished I went with the 18" tips. Little more room to play with tail pipe tip extention. But I lucked out because I wanted the tail pipe tips about half an inch past the lower part of the bumper cover. I went 2 1/2" tails with 3" chrome tips.

I mixed and matched my system. I did Dynomax flow tubes with 3" extentions, magnaflow lers and Flowmaster tails with no name chrome tips. I also used 5.0L mustang rear exhaust hangers on the frame and the Flowmaster hangers on the tailpipes that I had to cut and reweld.
