Defective effing spark plugs!!!  We've had a lot of new plug failures without any cracks or burn-though....well, by a lot I mean 4 different cases of failure in a 7 month period...that's too many.

Thanks to everybody,
Don

Yeah the now sold '93 Grand Marquis puked a new set of Autolites in about eight months...

Glad to hear you got it fixed... Hind sight being 20/20, wonder how it would have reacted on a cylinder balance test???

The E3's seem to idle really smooth.  We'll see if they can pay for themselves in fuel savings.

I think if this was an AOD car it would have been much easier to track down...at least then I could have chocked the wheels, set the brake and dropped it in gear and got a definitive misfire.  Live and learn.  Now I gotta let this motor breathe so it'll have some guts when I drop it into a crown vic.

thanks again,
Don

i saw the guys on horsepower tv run a test with them against 2 other brands of spark plugs(i dont remember which ones, but it might have been autolite and acdelco) They tested it in an LS1 and got better performance with the e3's, emission and hp wise, not sure about fuel milage though.
Remember, if the women dont find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

When all else fails, get a bigger hammer.

I've seen dyno tests that claim 20+ hp gains with these plugs...if I can keep my foot out of it, I should get a little better mileage.

That claim of 20+ hp is for the import crowd.  If it comes with a E3 sticker it can be as much as a 28+ hp increase for the imports.

This does not apply to the domestic cars.
