Aluminum Valve Covers?

The py, stamped-steel valve covers on the Sport are leaking.  I'm looking for a pair of cast aluminum ones to install in their place.  Does anyone know of any Ford vehicles that came from the factory with them?  If I knew what type of car, or truck to look for, I might be able to score a pair of them at the boneyard.

Thanks for any info.

That's what I was afraid of Vinnie.  The minute a Stang like that hits a Boneyard, it's stripped clean in minutes.

Looks like I'll have to just find a pair on here, or Ebay.  Thanks for the info Vinnie.

Take your valve covers off, set them on a wooden board and gently tap them with a hammer. I have a leak on my valve covers. I had two gaskets on one side with RTV all over it. When I pulled the cover off it was obviously warped so I set it on my dad's work bench and tapped it with a hammer until it was flat and put it back on. The car quit leaking oil until I had to swap my timing chain cover about 3 months later.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

I've done that before when I didn't have any other options, but since cast aluminum valve covers rarely, if ever leak (when properly installed) and they're readily available, I'm just gonna install of pair of them that Hypo's sending me and be done with it.

Thanks for trying to help though Haystack.
