How much for a complete bird/cougar wiring harness???

Hey guys just wondering how much do you think it'd be for a complete (from headlights to tailights including the dash harness) 86 5.0 tbird or cougar harness. Came to the conclusion after i got the idea from a member on FEP that I should use a complete harness from a tbird/cougar into my mustang for my interior swap (swappin eveything tbird into a stang). This would make it a lot easier for me cause then I dont have to figure out how to wire up the VSS and other stuff and then I can also use the auto dim feature for the headlights and the digital HVAC controls (though I need to buy another evap housing and a few other do dads that i lost/broke

). O and I need to use an 86 as I need a harness set up for 4 headlights AND fuel injection (im using a 86 GT and dont wanna mess with convertin a carb harness from an early tbird/cougar).

How much for a complete bird/cougar wiring harness???

86 gt's were not carbed. I think it would be the right harness for you to use personally. Unless your in canada. I don't see alot of point in using the HVAC controls for the auto climate control. It is alot more trouble then it is worth. The auto dimming headlights really are not cool either.

I like the idea of the interior in the stang, but I think you should use the standard ac/heater controls. The tbird/cougar harness for the body is probably quite a bit different. I know the tail lights are different and I know the lengths are different. I think you should use the harness for an 87-93 mustang for the harness and maybe splice in the headlights and body and some of the interior for the parts you want/need.

I know 86 GT werent carbed what I meant was I dont want to use a carbed harness from an earlier tbird. 87+ stang harness are to different and again I am NOT wiring up seperate lights. I cant use a 86 GT harness cause there is to many problems with that like wiring up the HVAC controls (buttstuffog or digital its still a pain), the gauge cluster etc. The length doesnt matter as 70% is hidden anyway. As for the tailights i'll either modify a tbird one (which would be easy) or use the stang back harness if they run the same plugs. Also I am doing the auto climate control and the auto dim cause [SIZE="4"]I[/SIZE] think its cool and I dont care about the work involved (ive done harder stuff).

Well the 87-88 tbird engine harnesses run at least $100. For everything out of one, all the way back to the trunk, I would saw maybe $200-$250. I personally have taken the majority of the interrior harness out of a car, it was a couple of afternoon project, it took some time.

Yeah ive done it before it wasnt to bad lol. I had the harness from the 87 bird parts car but.....umm lets just say its not useable now lol. Plus where i'd have to wire up low beam headlights I really dont wanna use one of them anyways (the 87-88). My plan was to use a 86 GT wiring harness (thats whats in the dash now) but it will be soooooooo much easier to use a bird one. I'll prob just get one at the junkyard or buy another wrecked car to use as a donor.

Also another reason why I wanna use the bird harness is the complete 86 GT harness is goin in my 85 (it was converted to FI but I wanna clean up all the wires and such).
