Opened up my T5

I bought a T5 a while back with plans to put it in my car. Now that I have the money to do so, I wanted to open up the transmission to make sure it was good to go. Good thing I did. What do you guys think? There's a large straight cut gear on the main shaft that looks pretty chewed up. I was told that it's reverse, do you think the condition it's in is acceptable? This is my daily driver, and it'll be put into reverse at least twice a day. Also, the first helical cut gear closest to the input shaft end has some ridges on the gears, you can just barely catch a screwdriver in the ridges.

EDIT: Found my camera, got some better shots

I'd go ahead and replace that chewed up gear. It wouldn't be too hard or expensive to replace since it's part of the shift collar. Also, if the helical gear you're talking about with the ridges is on the far left then it's part of the input shaft and very easy to replace.

The gear with the ridges is indeed the one on the far left. Now when you say it's part of the input shaft, does that mean that I'd have to replace the entire input shaft? And to replace just the reverse gear, will I need a shop press?

Thanks. I think I'm gonna throw it in as is. Of course, something else came up so I might need to put that on hold for now.

I prefer to only do something once, and beings you already have it apart it would be really hard to just put it back together.
...and there was light!
