portland Oregon meet?

I remember a couple years back, a few people met down at PIR for a track day. I was wondering if the birds and cougars around washington and oregon could find a day to all meet there and have a good time.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Well, I believe Cad-T-bird 500 was thinking about coming down this weekend actually, and since it should be nice, I'll probably meet up with him at PIR. Too bad it hasn't quit raining long enough for to get that 5-Speed in, otherwise I would make a couple runs. I would prefer to wait until the stupid car gets painted and closer to "finished" but that could take a few months, so I guess whenever is good.  :D

I think I will be there both Friday and Saturday night.  For sure on Friday. Saturday depends if my car holds together long enough for another night.  But the wife wants to run around Portland on Saturday so I'm going to spend the night.

I was thinking in mid july to august sometime. That way it gives enough time to let other people plan it out and get their cars fixed up and ready to drag (my friend and I are in the category). We can figure out a good day once everybody around here decides on going. I think it would make some great picture opportunities too.

Yes - Test n Tune.  If all goes well I will turn on the NOS and see if I can do a low 11 or even get into the 10's.  I hope all goes well because this would be exciting for me.

Last time I was running 11.7 NA and since then I put in the rear anti-roll bar, Lighter front tires, and manual steering.  Seems to be running very strong and I hope to get in many good passes.

wow it sounds like your car is ready for a 10sec pass. If I don’t get called into work, I'll make my way down there and watch. Mine and my friends turbocoupe won’t be ready to be run yet though. it should by late July or august we will be coming down there with around 350rwhp-400rwhp both. Nothing like yours but the fox tbirds and cougars: their presence will be known that day.

If you guys know anybody that has a fox tbird or cougar, let them know when we figure out a day to go race. It would be cool if you got a good population of them there.

Well Jrad235 and I had fun last night at PIR but the T-bird did not.  My 60' times were worst than ever and in the end I lost oil pressure again.  It was one of those nights I could do nothing right.  Even the NOS refuse to operate, worked fine in the pits and refused to work on the track.  I guess it time to pull the engine, look it over and put in new bearings.

Jrad235 had his car there and it has a ton of promise.  He is really taking a different route with the V-6 swap but is putting it all together into a nice package.

Having him there to bullshiznit with turned a bad nite for racing into a very nice night overall.  I just wished I could have put on a better show.

Yep, definitely had a good time, glad you liked the 'Bird!

That Nx System sounded pretty cool in the pits! I might have to try it...  :D

Don't worry about the runs, just focus on getting in top shape for later in the summer. It was definitely good to meet up with you, and I look forward to doing it again. Thanks for coming down!

Here's a couple of pictures, would be nice to see more there next time around.

I'm the old guy and jrad235 is the young buck.  Also a picture of jrad car and the Cad-T-Bird with both tires a little in the air.  Even though my 60' was not better it did leave very even.  I don't think the track was the best after a week of solid rain.

Dang, I cant wait until we can all get to the track. Both of your birds are cool in there on ways. We need to get a persons count going to see how many people we can get to go. My friend is posting a thread on NATO also. So far the count is up to 6. A guy that lives by me as 2 turbo coupe, dont know if he belongs to even forums but im going to talk to him. Isnt there a guy on here that ones a stock red turbocoupe that lives around portland?
