heater core

So the heater core went out in the bird after 8 months and 20,000 or so miles. I decided after the 36 degree temps and rain that something had to be done, but I did not want to pull the dash again. My ac is no longer hooked up, so I hack sawed off the tube right after the quick connect and just stuck the other hose right on the threaded fitting. Used the same hoses that I already had on there. And WOW what a difference. I cannot believe how much more heat this thing has. It does not seem to matter what temp you set it to, it will practically set you on fire.

Seriously, if anyone has A/C disconnected and a bad heater core, this may be a much better alternative. I think I might go junkyarding in a couple of weeks and try a A/C core in place of the heater core.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.
