Eric, I didnt say what KIND of paint.  Krylon makes some great colors nowadays! LOL

You may kid, but I've seen some pretty decent rattle can paint jobs in the past. Florida wasn't too hard on my paint, but someone decided to shoot my car so I have to get a new paint job now anyway. I was thinking about trying out Maaco. Some locations are better than others, it just depends on whose running your local Maaco - someone with experience, or someone who doesn't care how good of a job they do. You could always go there and see if they've got any cars they've recently painted to see the quality of their work. I've seen some py paint jobs come from Maaco, but I've also seen some pretty decent work too. If they do a pretty decent job, it would be better than faded 20 year old paint....

I'd be less worried about the paint and more worried about the engine and transmission with that mileage. ;)

is that really a 2 part paint or is it single stage? I thought it was single stage enamel. A clat bar couldve helped with the gum, but it looks like a repaint is due. But Ive done amazing things with my buffer and 3M Perfect III compound

Marriages seem to be hard on these red Cats ;-(  When I got married, my ex-boss decided to soap my car...the only REAL problem, he used LAVA SOAP (you know, the stuff with the pumice in it?)  It scratched right through the clear coat and down into the paint.  Nothing we tried would take the scratches out and I kinda lost interest in wash and wax jobs after that because, no matter what we tried, you could still see every word he's written down both sides and across the trunk.  Thankfully, my lady was just repainted and I'll have new pics to post soon (the paint guy messed up on part of the trim and had to re-do it ;-(    I was supposed to have her back three days ago but it rained so I'm not getting her back 'til today.

Good luck with your Cat but I fear you're looking at a paint job ;-(  Once that clear-coat is neglected for a summer, it's pretty well toast.
