It took away from my ChuckW motor mounts/Mass Air meter fund, but,it's done now. This billet distributor should add about 45-50 horse power.

Nice.  I need to get one of those someday...I'm still running my original distributor.  I'm pretty much stock HO with headers though so it probably will only gain me like 35-40 hp.  lol.

Keep saving for those Chuck W motor mounts.  They make a big difference!

I'll keep saving.I have brand new cushions on the car now for the motor mounts, and they're fine for now.I also have a new pair for sale.I figured that the distributor in the new engine is in great shape, but 22 years old.A new one couldn't hurt anything.....especially if it looks good doing it.LOL.

We'll find out.As far as keeping the distributor,I can get a replacement any time easily. There are a LOT of 5.0 engines (non H.O) all over my favorite yard.I'm selling all of my unused parts as soon as I get them so I can finance other things for the Sport (seats re-done,Mass Air meter, motor mounts to name a few).Every dollar counts.

I'm a little excited as well (I know,I know......it's just a distributor). I hope the new engine can be all I hope it is.One way to find out.Bolt it all in,and see what happens when i push the skinny pedal on the right.

Im not familiar with that piece, but I assume it has the hardened steel gear for the roller cam??

Are the HO and NON HO distributors the same (interchangable) piece??  Pull out, drop in?      Sorry, dumb question.

The difference is between the flat tappet and the roller cam distributors. The roller cam units have the steel gear, the others were iron.

The gears can be swapped, though if one needs to.We installed a flat tappet distributor in a roller engine after swapping the gear on it so we could put the Sport's original engine into my friend's '68 Mustang.....after we replaced the bearings and freshened up everything else.

I got to thinking about this distributor, and the way it was described, and decided to call and check on the part to make sure it was right.I'm glad I did.The part number for the one I bought was PC10002.......Our 5.0's need part# 10003.They are correcting that for me.The PC10002 is for the '94 and '95 Mustang.Theya re using the same pic for all of their distributor listings.I'm glad I caught that or the delay would've been longer....although I'm not using the engine yet anyway.
