1997 engine questions

hi
does anyone know if  the 4.6 from a 1997 t-bird has the same manifold cracking problems that happened on the lincoln towncars?and also whats the difference of the 4.6 in a 1997 t-bird compared to a 1997 continental. i have seen the name intech v-8 attached to that 4.6. the reason im asking is a freind is looking at a 1997 t-bird with a 120,000 with the 4.6 very nice shape for $1900, 2 owner, and also a 1997 continental with a 127,546 miles for $2000. also did the 1997 conti have the manifold cracking problems also?
thanks for any help

The 1997 T-Bird 4.6 does have the issue with the cracking of the plastic intake manifold. It honestly is not a difficult job to replace, if you're a DIY, but of course there is a cost for replacement manifold itself.

Continentals had the 32v which was called "Intech" on the Lincolns.
