What If, Question?

Does anyone know if, with a change to a 4BBL manifold and a early front timing cover, plus a distributor, could a late dual port 3.8L/4.2L V6 be used to replace a '83 carb'd engine.  I know you would have to plug the injector ports and use a cam with the correct dist gear on it, but am I missing something else.  This would be for a drag race T'Bird only, no street running!  Anybody got ideas?  Fred

You'd probably need to make your own intake - I'm not aware of any split port intakes that will work with a carb. You can use a 4.2 bottom end for a bit more displacement - your single-port heads will bolt on

Thunder Chicken,  According to MORANA's (moranav6racing.com) website, he going to modify intakes for use with a Holley.  My major concern is drive for a distributor and I do not use a computer, just a Mallory Ignition.  No ECU!  Fred
