tough fix ? brakes August 24, 2010, 04:16:29 PM I have a 91 xr7 with 4 wheel disk brakes and abs. The power booster started to leak. Anyone know how I can get the brakes fixed? They dont sell parts for it. I did find a power booster but it cost $1100.00. No way am I going to pay that. I really like the car and it is a good collecters car but if I cant sell it without brakes. And I cant fix them I will have to part it out. Any help would be great. Quote Selected

tough fix ? brakes Reply #3 – August 24, 2010, 07:01:06 PM It is the air tank and the part attached to the air tank that mounts to the back of the master. Quote Selected

tough fix ? brakes Reply #8 – August 25, 2010, 09:26:50 AM Your best bet is probably going to be a junkyard unfortunately, maybe ebay. Rare these days is the 91 coupe thats worth dumping $1100 booster into.I'm not saying don't try to fix your TEVES, but you can swap out the hydroscrew for a conventional vac assist booster and MC. Its a pretty common swap, check SCCOA or TCCOA for the details. Alot of guys on SCCOA are rich, so they rant about fixing their TEVES by throwing wad after wad of dough at it. Reality is, if your not a purist, and you just need to drive the car (not a restoration purist). Then NON abs will work fine. http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59901&highlight=TEVES+swapBasically, get a MC from a 93 Crown Vic. Booster from a 90 non SC tbird. Move a hardline. Hook up the Vac line, done.Edit: Complete Rebuilt systems for sale from SpinningWheels-SC for $880-250core = $630. http://spinningwheels-sc.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=51827 Quote Selected
