brainstorming- no heat

I have no cabin heat in my 83 (5.0). I haven't had any for a couple years.

A few years back, I had the radiator, fan, hoses, and water pump replaced, so all of that is hopefully not the problem.

Last year, at idle I would have heat, but as soon as I moved, heat was gone. I figured it was the thermostat (stuck open), I just was too lazy to change it.

This year I have no heat at all. Not even at idle. My operating temp is always 180ish (with a mechanical gage).

I am thinking I might start with the thermostat and radiator cap. What do you guys think?

Pop the cap off your radiator and check your coolant level.  If your coolant level is low enough, it can cause you to lose heat like that in the cabin.  I've personally seen instances where the coolant level was low enough to cause your lack of heat problem, but the car still ran with a normal engine temp.

Clogged heater core is a possibility as well.  Stuck Blend door is another.

after youve covered the basics mentioned above i would shoot for this or the vacuum lines in the cabin.
none of the vents blow air(or just no heat) or just the front ones?

Do the heater hoses heat up?
Manual or ATC?
