Time...

Anybody ever felt like it was running out?
Like you have/had too much on your plate, and not enough free time to accomplish everything?

I'm not the world's most patient person, but lately...well, I want to get the Tbird running and stopping before this year's Ice Age hits.

Nicole is working more hours now, not that I'm complaining about that. I suppose I should be grateful we both have steady jobs. I work in plastics; I run blenders and grinders at a plastic bottle manufacturer, and yesterday we learned one of our biggest customers, if not THE biggest, has filed bankruptcy. Management insists that it won't affect us, at least not short-term, and i do realize it could be much much worse.

I'm very grateful and happy I have 40 hours a week, I know a lot of folks aren't as fortunate.

With her working more, it means less time to tinker on the bird, and I hate staying up too late at night. I also can't really ignore Cole, since he's 10 months old today, and starting to get curious about everything he sees lol.

It seems so simple really, but it's always there, nagging at me to get it done:
Weld the plates in the AC holes in the firewall.

Clean/degrease the HO, bolt on the bit of goodies I have for it and drop it all in.

finish my brake swap/conversion and bleed all the lines.

swap brakes on the 8.8 and install it.

I've started putting my interior back together..I've been doing that slowly at night when I get home from work.

I'm not bitching...just wish I was able to spend a steady 2-4 hours a day finishing what I want to do before it's cold and deer season,
and still maintain the family life, lol.
The clock is ticking.....

So how you guys do all the car stuff, family time, and work. Plus the downtime from a sorta stressful job? lol:bowdown:

Work weekdays, friends/family weeknights, car weekends. Such a schedule seems to keep things clear and simple. I work normal hours 7-4 though, very rarely weekends or later evenings.

Well, I work the same schedule every week.I get weds. and fris. off. The family knows that weds. is my selfish day[at least until 3].That is when i work on my thunderbird,build my model cars,watch a movie or whatever. That kills 2 birds with 1 stone,i get things done that i want[need] to do,and it's unwind time. So there you go,pick some selfish time.

I feel like I never have enough time every day. Then I go though these peirods of an hour to 5 of having no motivation an feel like I have nothing to do or what I can think of isnt that important. I dont understand it but its an everyday thing now.

Most people dont have enough time because its filled with nonsense. Then they stress about the inportant stuff because they wasted too much time doing nothing.

Some days you just have to stop and step out of the tunnel vision. Look up at the clouds, look at the things around you and not though them, enjoy life. Where are we running to? Death, so why rush your time you have.

I've had a good bit of time lately as I am still out of a job. No complaints though as Kristy and I live well within our means, and thus can do OK on just her salary.

We will be moving to Tennessee early next year, so hopefully I can soon find something there.

beau, looks like we need to plan ahead a few weeks and have another get to gether and bust ass on your bird. I know Sher and Nicole would like to spend some time together and the babies can do their thing. lets get something planned and get your bird together... mine can wait.

i work on the cars when i can, once a week,once a month,whenever. i work 2 full time jobs, 7 days a week.

We might have to do that...here in a coupla weeks, we're going to my mom's house in south Missouri, but after that...I'm game lol
If I could get all the little odd and ends tied up...the rest probably wouldn't take a day or 2 at the most.

Seems like I spend more time chasing a bolt down, or taking a shortcut that actually sets me further back...

We'll figure it out :D

This entire summer has been "not enough time". Although I accomplished nearly every one of my goals the work never ends because i keep piling it on. Case in point: The Cherokee I just bought. For the past two weeks I've been working on it nearly steady. New floors from firewall to tailgate (this took the most time), new rockers, new axle joints, new brake lines/hoses/drums/shoes/rotors/pads, new P.S. hose, and then when I get all that done the thing refuses to start (turns out the crank sensor packed it in). Fixed that, drove it one day, then decided I needed to make a trailer hitch for it. Did that yesterday and now it's a roof rack I'm wanting to make, and I've still got to make a front bumper for it.

Interspered with all of that I've still got to finish up the last cord of firewood. I went to do that the other day and my woodsplitter packed it in.

One good thing is that with the Cherokee on the road I can take insurance off the T-Bird, so it can go in the garage and await its planned winter work (HO upgrade).

Dude guess what,, after we talked the other day IM BACKKKKKKKK. Man Im coming through Mo. sometime in Nov. which I know is gonna be cold as all hell,,, but if you want we can screw around on stuff you dont have done yet when I come through. was talkin about bringin the cougar by to let you see it. it aint gonna be no where near as fast as it'll be when I get back from afghanistan but you'll get an idea on it.

, is everything in Canada rusted out? that's the one thing i don't miss about living in cape cod!

Dunno about the rest of Canada, but as for Nova Scotia: Yes, yes it is. Even worse than Cape Cod. Case in point: My brother's 2005 Chrysler minivan has rust holes (yes, actual holes) in the hood...
