Would an '83 A.O.D. have a lockup convertor ??
I got my 83 T-Bird Heritage running again and it has the original 5.0 AOD with a Baumann shift kit. The car has been converted to a carb with the lokar TV cable adjusted as per the factory spec.
The overdrive engages but as I am cruising along at 60-65 mph I notice (and hear) the rpms go up then down about 200-300 rpm. I don't think the overdrive band is slipping because I would think if the o.d. was disengaging the rpms would be higher than 300 ? The rise and fall of the rpms never went more than 300.
Did the 83's have some form of lockup convertor like the AODE ?
