found a K member, but is it worth it? September 08, 2009, 12:09:02 AM 1985 Mustang 5.0 GT K member with A-arms, coils, and spindles....he keeps struts, rotors, and calipers. I have to remove myself, total cost $150.00 Price doesn't seem too bad to me, but thought I'd run it past you guys. Quote Selected

found a K member, but is it worth it? Reply #2 – September 08, 2009, 10:23:13 AM So the engine and exhaust will fit. Or I could go with a tubular for twice the $$$. I was about set on doing that, but I finally got a reply to a CL ad from a couple weeks ago.I tried to use the stock K, but the headers are designed for a Mustang, and so they hit the original perch and Chuck W mounts. found a K member, but is it worth it? Reply #3 – September 10, 2009, 09:15:24 AM In my mind I would go with an aftermarket one just because it a lot of labor to change out and when I got done I would want something pretty and different that everyone could see.If the Mustang does everything you are looking for than I guess it's okay but I sure think this guy would be very lucky to get a $150 from an old stock crossmember. I think you can make a better deal. Especially since you have to do all the labor to remove it.Also an aftermarket one with A-arms would be more like $600 and four times as much. But what do I know?TED Quote Selected

I was thinking for simplicity to get the dang thing out and gone... would be easier to just take the arms with? But yesterday, things have changed, yet again. I'm gonna have to just put the car out back and cover it up, and see what next year brings. :(PS Cad, yer thinking makes sense. I'm in uncharted territory it seems, and the thought of doing the stang K that may still not work, only puts me further behind. R&D can be expensive, lol. I may just wait until I can swing it and get a tubular. Quote Selected
