Weird 06 Fusion problem

I have a weird problem with the turn signals in a 06 Ford Fusion. The driverside will not go out even with the car off. The passenger side flashes one time and goes out. The same thing happens with the hazards. The rear works fine. The dash says to check PF and DF turn signals. The owners manual does not show any location for flashers or relays. Do ya'll have any ideas? Any help would be much appreciated.

if you have checked the bulbs and the wiring to them take it to the dealer.

First check for burned out bulbs. Most of the time this is the problem.

All the newest Ford cars have SJB's (Smart Junction Boxes) that control all the accessories like door locks and lighting among many, many other things. There are no longer conventional flashers on these cars. Flashing is controlled by the SJB. The one in my 08 Mustang is in the right hand kick panel under the dash. This unfortunately is something you will not likely be able to fix yourself. If the SJB fails, programming for the SJB has to be done at the dealer.

Maybe the multifunction switch is going bad?

BTW, I had a 1988 T-Bird Sport way back when. I found out that it was totalled shortly after trading it in. It still has the ignition switch recall to date.

Special thanx to EricCoolCats for showing me to this site.

I replaced both bulbs. I figured it would be some kind of control unit. Thinks alot.

I think it's probably the Smart Junction Box also.  If you plan to work on the car yourself, try to get a Ford manual (evtm), to diag the problem.  You will want to pull codes to see if there are any SJB faults.
