paint codes for powdercoating interior colors

I've got regular paint, but would like to get the metal interior trim powdercoated.  According to my powdercoater, PC paint companies don't like to give anything like a standardized color code.  I've been looking at paint chips, trying to match the grey trim, without any luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions, a brand or specific color?

I'm curious how closely they could get any powdercoat to your requirements - mixing powders is much more difficult than mixing paint since it looks completely different as powder versus coating.

Sorry I can't be of any help though...I doubt you will find much on this very specialized topic.

That's pretty much what the powdercoater said.  He's willing to work with me, experimenting and such.  I was hoping someone had found a brand or specific color that was close.

Probably would be MUCH easier pulling the paint code and heading to a decent auto body shop......

I asked my powdercoating guy if he could mix colors. He said he tried mixing a purple once (red added to blue) and the final product came out as blue with red splotches. Unfortunately powdercoating doesn't work like paint mixing. You can't blend two powders and expect them to behave like paint. The samples that you see with powdercoating is what you get, and that's it. Closest match, or if it doesn't match, go with paint.
