The right tools make any job better

yesterday, my buddy and i went up to the shop he works at to work on our cars, the shop is called Anderson Performance, they specialize in Grand Nationals, and the Syclone/Typhoon, along with most other GM stuff

i put a fuel pump in my TC earlier in the week, over at another buddies shop, took us a good bit up time, using a jack, and air tools, well, afterwards, i got a fuel leak

so we go up to the shop, i put my car on a lift, throw a tranny jack under the tank, use air tools, knock the straps off the tank, and lower the tank right down, no more than 10 minutes including getting the car on the lift

my buddy and i were reflecting about these things, took him 15 minutes to pull both front springs out of his firebird, and cut a half coil, and re-assemble, few years ago, doing it in his garage, it took him all night

took us about 35 minutes to change the throwout bearing in the same firebird, before, it would have been a weekend affair

amazing what the right tools can do
It's Gumby's fault.

yeah,  I know what you mean,  Took me about 2 hours to do the Eibach springs on my stang out in the driveway.  Took me a half hour to do the same job on a 96 Mustang out in the shop at Ivy Tech a few years ago.
