Hoopie & The Junk Yard Dog

A few may know I've sold my '93 Lightning, so it's time to meet a couple of new additions...

Hoopie the '96 F-150 is a Craigslist find that I stumbled across just to have a pickup I could beat and bang around in... Has 5.0, E4OD trans, 175Kmi and a multitude of minor issues, bought it dirt cheap...

The '00 Explorer Sport(aka Junk Yard Dog)found me, was the older daughter & SIL's 2nd vehicle... Replaced with a '09 Forestier(already have a '12 Outback) they just wanted the doggie gone... They also named it... Has a CEL & ABS light but has no other issues than to catch up on maintenance, even tires are almost new... Has 117Kmi and I bought it dirt cheap, plus 50% off...

Nice...the Exploder a 5.0?
My '97 Mounty has a CEL and ABS light too, but that's due to no cats (and no O2's) and a something-something in the rear...I checked it once, it was nothing major, but I am going to fix it soon..

I'd love to have another ninth gen F truck, but 4x4 and club cab, to be my work/farm truck,,,

The Splorer has a 4.0(dammit), only my third vehicle in almost 20 years that isn't V8 or had the Turbo 2.3, others were a 2.3 '87 Stang & 3.0 '88 Aerostar...

LOL, was just a truck...

Really though after owning it over seven years and often not being able to haul larger objects, I decided it was better to let it go and give someone else the opportunity to enjoy it... It went to a friend that's bought a couple Turbo Coupes, the '95 LX Bird and '93 Grand Marquis... I rarely have a problem selling my stuff, someone is almost always ready to buy...

Back in the summer I also sold the Mach1 Red Turbo coupe I'd been setting on since '01(never tagged it), another friend bought that one...

Don't worry though, I'm not going to sell the white 5.0 TC, it should be roaming the streets again this spring... Have been buying pieces to complete the 331 swap, along with fresh AOD with Lentech valve-body, set of Weld Drag Lites etc...

I saw an L on the local CL awhile back...for 2500....of course it was beaten to shiznit, but seller said it ran. Kinda high for an efi Windsor swap basis though..and it didn't even have those cool 17" wheels.

Then again, not exactly sure that's a true Lightning...VIN would say for sure.

I've always loved them there super sick all pro stocked out

There is one buy me pretty cheap but someone turned it into a all out pre runner

Umm that one on CL is likely a true lightning, at least has the engine & interior...

Just after I sold mine, there was nice looking one for $2500 on the local CL, but it had 206K mi on it... Was gone in two or three days...

I sold mine with 126Kmi for $3500, paint was kinda weak and needed tires(priced a P275/60/17 lately?) but had no mechanical issues... It had no doubt been wrecked early in life as I'm sure it had a different front clip, radiator support had a 6cyl belt wrap sticker, but Car Fax was clean... My buddy is a painter, he'll no doubt spruce it up a bit...

I paid $5K for it in '05(most I'd paid for a vehicle at the time) and had spent almost nothing on it, happy with the sale...

The JYD is gone... Put it on CL last night around 10:45, was sold by 5:00 this evening...
