3G pulley stuck big time Reply #1 – July 09, 2009, 08:02:32 PM I eventually got it off. I now figured out my 2g pulley hits the alternator housing and wont work. Gotta order a new pulley I guess. Quote Selected
3G pulley stuck big time Reply #2 – July 09, 2009, 09:17:37 PM Nope you need a washer. The one that is on your 2G alt should work. Stuckman Quote Selected
3G pulley stuck big time Reply #3 – July 10, 2009, 08:05:08 AM Wont that skew the alignment of the serp. belt? causing it to ride on the back side of the pulley? Quote Selected
3G pulley stuck big time Reply #4 – July 10, 2009, 08:17:18 AM Well, if the last pulley was a serp pulley and didn't hit...You need to compare where the old pulley sat vs where the new one does on your new alt. Quote Selected
3G pulley stuck big time Reply #5 – July 10, 2009, 09:11:39 AM The old pulley that was on the 3g was very large. I wanted to switch to the smaller one that was on my 2g. On a flat surface, both pulleys were equal, belt wise, but the 2g has a different curve on the back of it that causes it to hit the housing.Whatever thickness I need to shim it out, will push it that distance past correct.
