Where to buy steel tube for exhaust?

I'm looking into making custom lers (or lack thereof) for my bike and have no idea where to find just regular pipe.  I don't need special fit, just the right diameter, i can cut the length.  It doesn't need to be pretty either, as I plan on covering it with full-length chrome heat shields.  Thoughts?  I would prefer an online dealer if possible, i don't have a lot of time to get out and take care of business while places are open...

Any exhaust shop should be able to get you tubing. I paid $4 for a 1ft piece of 3in tube, it was thick walled too. Thinner wall stuff should be even cheaper.
