Finally gave it a try...

Decided to try and do some polishing of the headlights on my '94 bird today, wasn't sure how it would turn out, but i like the results.

And after....

I think they turned out great. Cost less than 20 bucks, and still have enough stuff left to do the truck:D

The lights are way better at night too......just took it for a run to jack in the box (lol) and I could actually see the headlights on the wet ground for once

They look good. I have a set (think I still have them) of 87-88 Bird lights that need some attention BAD I want to try polishing.

Wet ground at night time usually means no help from my head lights. Really sucks when people coming the other way have halogen lights or are driving with their brights on. Seem to be a lot of idiots around here that drive with their brights on.

Guess they think the idiot light is a bullet and means they can go faster....

It wasnt that bad to do, and it was pretty cheap too. After sanding I used Meguiars PlastX to polish/coat them and it really made them shine.

I'm sure glad I picked up a set of NOS headlights and inner marker lights right after I got my Cat in 2000.  They've held up well over the years and now I'm finally getting some decent turn signal lights for each side.

Does anyone have any tips on keeping the plastic from yellowing?  From what I understand it's kind of inherent in the polycarbonate (?) material used, but I think there's plastic treatments that can help slow the aging process?
