MN12 Update ►

After five years of ownership with the '96, I've decided to start fooling around with it. I did some minor things before, and I've had four sets of wheels on it.

I found a set of Cobra wheels in the MN12 bolt pattern for $200 during the winter. Plus, they were local so I didn't have to drop the coin for shipping.
I'm aware that the Cobra wheels are overdone, and I did have something else in mind, but I couldn't pass up the deal I got on the wheels. Plus, I got the full set of lugs and centercaps.

I got a great deal on the tires, which I purchased last weekend. The brand is spoogeho and they are 255/50/17 (I now refer to them as "the meats"), and they fit very well with no modifications required. I'm running custom-machined spacers up front, which helps them clear the top of the spindle.
I think these tires are as large as you can go with this chassis. I wanted tires big enough to fill out the wheel wells, but I couldn't lower the car; that would have catastrophic results here in Pittsburgh.

The chrome is flaking on the inside surfaces of the wheels, so I'll have to do something about that. The other plans include suspension and brake upgrades, as well as repainting a lot of small parts in the wheel wells... now that everything can be seen.

Definitely sets it off, and yeah, some do say that Cobra wheels are over done, but on that car they seem to flow, or they do to me anyway.

So, uhhh, what else ya got planned???????? hmmmm?;)

Very nice!  I had a '93 Thunderbird for a while, sweet cars. I have an upper control arm/ball joint (new), though I forget which side. In any case, if you want it let me know, and it's your's for shipping costs.

Shiny Side Up!

Have always liked your MN12. I say when you do brakes do the hub swap to 114.3 and sell the Cobras to an SHO guy....

Thanks for the compliments.

The car is approaching the 100k mile mark. It needs a complete overhaul of the suspension, as most of it is stock. I guess I'll do it one step at a time.

Nice.

Though it'd be nicer if it had a solid axle, upside down quarter windows, and was about 500 pounds lighter and 10" narrower :hick:

J/K -I'm no fan of MN12's, but I must admit yours looks mighty fine...

Glad you're finding some renewed enjoyment in the Cat.  The wheels fill out really well.
