Not sure about the rules since I'm in the same boat as Gumby. For ESP, go this direction within the limits of the rules.
Go a little stiffer and lower on the springs, but not much. Wider wheels and sticky tires. New bushings. Adjustable Konis. A slightly shorter axle ratio, 373s-456s, depending. Concentrate on getting the motor to breathe - open up the exhaust, crank the boost, and make sure the I/C is getting good cooling crossflow. Maybe run a vent hose to the bottom of the I/C, look at what Gumby did with his hood scoops. Get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. You might get better performance with a larger plenum.
Are subframe connectors legal in ESP? Maybe you could argue it isn't a performance option, just reinforcing the body because it's so old and rusty. (Yes, I know somebody that argued that successfully for stock class.)
Oh yeah, welcome.
