Need help. Need some pics

I have a buddy that moved up to Michigan for school this year. He is looking at a Mark VII, but due to the area I want to make sure he doesnt get screwed over with a rusted up POS.

Thing is I can go look at it with him, and he isnt that knowledgeable about cars. So me explaining what to look at isnt to helpful. So I told him I would try and send him pics of what to look at. The thing is, my car is at home and I am at school.

If anyone has some extra time could they grab a few pics for me?

I need one of all the areas rust likes to start on Foxes.

  • Strut towers (engine bay and wheelwell)
  • Bottom of firewall, front of floor,
  • door bottoms
  • Rockers
  • frame rails
  • toque boxes
  • trunk lid
  • quarters
  • core support (might borrow Jerry's if he doesnt mind)

It also has a sunroof, but I an not sure where the drains run on the Marks. Does anyone know?

I am going to try and gather what I can from here.

Even one pic helps:bowdown:

Thanks

I don't know about anyone else, But this is the area i've been fighting rust:

trim clips deteriorate and cause troubles.

*EDIT:
Whoops, Missed the MarkVII part.
Still might want to check under the trim pieces though, These factory clips deteriorate so bad with water...

The Holy Grail of pics!

LOL I looked for 20 mins to find the pic of the sending unit yesterday. I remember seeing all the pics, just not what order I saw them in. Thanks Jerry!

It's listed on the left under.......

fuel sender and pump
or
Tank and supports

Everything's listed as a project, or as a section of my car. There's probably 100s of pics that I never posted, and a bunch of the tank, pump and sender that I only saw

The only thing not on your list are bad torque boxes. mine were surprisingly un-rotted and I only have the pics of the reinforcing plates going in.
If you can't find something, let me know. I can tell you where I put it, or find it quickly for you

I had probs with my rear quarters, I have noticed this is a problem with Mark VII's as well.

I labeled pics for everything but the underside and sent them to him so far. He is getting the run around. I emailed them too so I could get the run down on the car.

It was a vinyl top which scares me. Its brown too so seeing the rust coming though is even harder.

I generally try to stay away from vinyl tops because they rust underneath about 98% of the time. If he is getting the run around I'd just count on it having rust on it. Most people sell a car when it has a problem of some type. It is guaranteed.
