How to I get this stupid cam plug in place? March 23, 2009, 02:03:19 PM See thread title. I've tried heating it. I've tried hammering it. All I've managed to do is batter the out of the plug :( Quote Selected

Reply #1 – March 23, 2009, 03:15:02 PM i assume you're talking about the one on the back of the block? heating it is going to make it expand, so that wont work. ive always used a large socket that fits inside the "lip", then tapped it in with a hammer. How to I get this stupid cam plug in place? Reply #3 – March 23, 2009, 03:51:11 PM I meant heating the hole, not the plug. And yeah, this one's pretty battered. Gonna have to replace it. Quote Selected

How to I get this stupid cam plug in place? Reply #5 – March 23, 2009, 05:24:48 PM I'm getting pretty ticked now. I have destroyed my SECOND plug after freezing it, heating the hole, and hitting it with everything from a run of the mill hammer to a 20 LB sledge. Totop it off, the idiots at autozone haven't the slightest clue what I'm talking about, so i have to spell EVERYTHING out for them.HULK RAGE Quote Selected
