A growing list of questions...

First order of the day... the time when the meat and potatoes of my ratbird stands completed approaches quickly, and as such I have a few Q's that need answering before I go willy nilly spending money.

This is an '83 heritage Tbird.

1) It's a 302 with a C4 behind it.  What sort of linkage changes need to happen to make this work, considering it came with an AOD?

2) Given the 302 C4 setup, will long tube headers fit?  Should I even get Longtubes, or will not having that pesky emissions valve sitting up close present a problem?  Do I even NEED that valve?

3) Oil pan.  Will the oil pan that came withthe motor (from a '78 Cougar) fit in the stock compartment?  The oil pan on the motor that left the Bird looked to sit right snug with the front crossmember, and it had the deep sump in back.  This one appears to have the deep sump up front.  Cause for worry?  if so, where would I go about picking up the correct pan?

That's it for now.  I'm sure there will be more.  Thanks in advance fellas.

1. Should fit, you'll more than likely have to figure out the linkage differences or switch to an aftermarket shifter.
2. Longtubes SHOULD fit. I had a 351W C4 with longtubes on my 79 Mustang and that worked I can't see why this wouldn't work. Now the emissions is a different deal, does your state require emission testing?
3. As stated above.
