Anyone going on the Hot Rod Power Tour?

Checking to see if there may be other membershiznitting the Power Tour this year.

I plan to do the full tour, arriving in Madison on the 5th.

For those of you who don't plan to do the tour, but are within close proximity to one of the stops, it's worth seeing what it's about!  I saw it go through Pontiac one year and the urge to go really bit me.

The stops are listed on Hotrod.com.  It runs from Madison Wi. around Chicago over to the Detroit area and down to Bristol Tn.

With no CatJam this year, it might be an opportunity for some of the community to touch base.

Post up your plans and we'll see what can be arranged.

Mark

I think they are planning on going through Iowa again next year, if so I'm in but I'll skip it this year.

Im always so far away from the stops, kinda sucks.
If the camaro was a little more street friendly I would like to do the tour.

Attended my first Power Tour stop yesterday in Mount Clemens, MI and it is an awesome event. Non-stop cars arriving from noon until 6 pm. The weather was great, the people were great, the atmosphere was great.
I also met Mark with his 86 thunderbird, which was really cool. My car is the one on the left.
I will try to post more pics later in the week.

I was pretty happy to see another Blue 86 when Camron showed up!

It was intriguing to see some of the differences between the two cars, probably due to US and Canadian production.  I had never seen an 86 vent window car, Elan molded into the side strip on the front fenders and chrome rocker panel covers.

Also great to meet someone who drag races regularly!

During the tour, I auto crossed the car in Madison and Drag Raced at Great Lakes Drag Way.  Auto crossing was a blast!  Drag racing with all the stuff on board and a slipping blower belt was a little disappointing.

Had a few minor issues, but nothing to sideline the car.  Still have an issue with the blower belt tensioner which needs to be resolved, but other than that, I was pleased with the trip!
