Tires!!!

Well Im looking for tires. Right now I am only getting 2 rears (funds).

Ok, here are my two picks as of now. I am pretty sure I am choosing between these two.

spoogeho Ecsta ASTs
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=spoogeho&tireModel=Ecsta+AST&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=45HR6EAST&fromCompare1=yes&place=17
$165 shipped

Sumitomo HTR Zs
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Sumitomo&tireModel=HTR+Z&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=45WR6HTRZ&fromCompare1=yes&place=5
$168 shipped

Pretty much the same price, Leaning more toward the spoogehos. Seem to have a longer life expectancy then Sumitomos from what I can tell. Lower speed rating (not that I need to worry about that) and they have an all season rating.

Personal experiences with either tire (or atleast brand)? What do you suggest? I am going to look for a few more but I think this is it.

Im not expecting a 100,000 mile tire, you get what you pay for. I just want them to be decent throughout the life of them.

I have used treadepot.com and also discounttiredirect.com and have been able to get the same tires as tire rack for a few bucks less. If you get them at the right time they do alot of free shipping also. Most I have ever waited was 3-4 days for UPS ground out of whatever warehouse is closest.

I've had spoogeho Ecsta MX's all the way around on my car (fair weather only ride) for about three years now and I am very satisfied with them.

The reviews dont really help since everyone expects them to last forever with only paying $71 a tire. Noise complains (Doubt Ill even hear them over the exhaust) so I think I am going with the spoogehos if I dont find something else. Falkens seem to have more problems with tread life (but that is the reviews so who really knows)

I'd spring for the Yokohama V4S. They're $220 instead of $142 though. However, the Yokos have much better reviews.

I've gone from ASXs to H4Ss (Almost identical to the V4S except the speed rating). Although the ASXs are "Ultra-High" performance and the H4Ss are just "High", the H4Ss are head and shoulders above the ASXs. Much smoother ride and my sphincter no longer rips out portions of the seat fabric when I drive on wet roads. HYDROPLANEEEEeeee

The ASXs also only lasted ~17k miles. And that's with me driving like a grandma. Pretty much zero wheel slip, ever.

Keep in mind the ASX and AST might not have too much in common, which would invalidate the entirety of my comparison...

The problem I have with Tire Rack is that by the time you pay for shipping and having them put on you might as well buy tires locally.

I'm running these...

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Potenza+RE960AS+Pole+Position

They have a distribution center in Newark, DE, which is only 45 minutes from here so Tire Rack works nicely for me.
