upgrading the spindles on the 86, need some help Reply #1 – December 21, 2008, 12:02:54 AM Rob, the 1994-95 Mustang spindles will work, and will keep the front end alignment in roughly the same position as your current spindles. They are closer to a Fox spindle than the later versions. You could also use 1996-2004 Mustang spindles; however, they will move the position of the tie rods to the point where you may be at the limit of alignment with a stock setup. In other words, caster/camber plates, bump steer kit, etc. There is much more information here that may help you:http://mjbobbitt.home.comcast.net/~mjbobbitt/mustang/sn95brakes.html Quote Selected

upgrading the spindles on the 86, need some help Reply #3 – December 21, 2008, 01:11:25 AM it will still change slightly, but nothing additional will be needed to get a good alignment. but fox arms may work good with the 96-04 spindles/hubs. Quote Selected
upgrading the spindles on the 86, need some help Reply #4 – December 21, 2008, 08:29:32 AM Quote from: rob302;248347 i know i need to swap ball joints No you don't. Only replace them w/ SN-95 units if they are worn out. You can put SN-95 spindles on Fox balljoints with no issues. You'll just need about 5/16" of spacer under the castle nut.Any SN-95 swap will require at the very least a realignment of the front of the car. You're not going to get away from that. You may need to swap tie rods. I know some guys have had to and some guys haven't. I didn't need to on my '83. Quote Selected
