spring question December 20, 2008, 07:56:23 PM I was wondering how much coil i need to cut to get a 1/2" drop in the rear and a 3/4" drop in the front with stoch TC springs. Will that affect the spring rating to much if I torch them or is there a better method that wont put to much heat into the metal? I have a spare set of TC springs and wanted to experiment. Hope this makes sense, i am trying to drown my cold with a bottle of 1998 Merlo...mmmmm warm feeling. :D Quote Selected
spring question Reply #1 – December 21, 2008, 09:04:23 AM cut off wheel or hack saw :-p less heat the better as far as how much to cut... try half a coil at a time (pain in the rear i know) but also realize the rear springs are flat on one end and pig tail on the other so i dunno if you can cut them... perhaps you can if you change the insulator to the front style? havnt really looked to see. if you do cut it and it sits a little "high" drive it a bit to let it settle down before sayin its not low enough..
