Polishing Centerlines December 24, 2008, 12:18:58 AM Does anyone have any experience with polishing Centerline wheels? I have a chance to pick some up at a reasonable price but would prefer a more polished look. Any help would be appreciated. Quote Selected

Polishing Centerlines Reply #2 – December 24, 2008, 07:30:27 AM If they are polished aluminum without any type of sealant on the surface (Zoop, etc.), they should react like any other polished metal. It just takes time, the right materials and a good technique. I've spent countless hours polishing aluminum parts until they looked like chrome. The Centerlines should be fairly easy to do, unless they have caked-on brake dust, salt/corrosion or other detritus. You might consider buying the Mother's Power Ball.My favorite products are Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish (paste) and Nev-R-Dull. Quote Selected
Polishing Centerlines Reply #3 – December 24, 2008, 02:01:42 PM Depends on the tools you have access to. I had access to a lathe I could mount my 10holes into. Then I cut a jig the shape of the surface of the wheel. Then covered the JIG in Gray scotch brite pad. Then Mounted my jig on the tool rest of the lathe. Then turned the lathe on and turned the tool until I added some pressure on the jig piece and made sure it was making even contact. Let it run that way for 1hr then pulled it off the lathe and went to town with a power ball Came out real nice. I have a thread on here some where showing what it made the first one look like after the lathe treatment! Quote Selected
