rebuilding AOD and 8.8

Ok my AOD is dieing in my mark... So im going to take the one out of the blue car, rip it apart and go throught it. How hard is the trans to rebuild? I've never messed with a transmission before and I know i need a manual and a dvd to help with visuals. I can not afford to ahve it rebuilt, and I refuse to put a stock trans in because I will most likely kill it as well. I am going with a custom valve body, a good cheap higher stall stock replacement tourqe converter, and maybe more mods. Any info on this would be great!!

Now the rear end from the blue car is going in the red car so I can have a posi again but I might rebuild it before hand
how difficult is it? is that gonna be getting my self in way to deep??

Thanks so much guys

I wouldn't mess with either, if you haven't put one together before. There's gonna be parts falling out that you won't know where they came from. You'll also need to buy some special tools for both. Vernier calipers, dial indicator, snap ring pliers, etc.

For your app, a stock rebuild would be just fine. Look on TCCOA's tech section for some how-to's.

I got snap ring pilers and such
I have no choice to do it myself because of funds
and theres NO WAY im doign a stock rebuild in this car
this AOD was rebuilt at 47k and it has 99k now and its slipping, was slightly slipping when I get it at WOT
Stock rebuild is gonna cost about the same as slightly modding it
looking at these clutches
