Slight Coolant Problem... December 11, 2008, 12:50:55 AM So I recently installed a rebuilt turbo. It has about 120 miles since then and it runs great. I've only been at WOT maybe 4 times, only one at 17psi -- the others at about 12. I noticed the other day that it was running warm, so I replaced the thermostat. However I was worried because my windows were fogging up. The thermostat seemed to help. That was yesterday. Today, it was getting warm again. Then I noticed antifreeze dripping from the heater core into the passenger floorpan. I knew that was a bad sign. I took a right turn into my driveway and my foot got soaked in antifreeze -- it POURED into the floorpan. There is now a puddle in the driver's side of the car. I already ordered a new heater core and am dreading the thought of ripping this dash out which unfortunately I've had the pleasure of doing before. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this problem before??Thanks in advance. Quote Selected
Slight Coolant Problem... Reply #1 – December 11, 2008, 01:17:15 AM No need to pull the whole dash out....http://www.coolcats.net/tech/troubleshooting/heatercore.htmlMinus draining the A/C it can be done in under 3 hours. Quote Selected
Slight Coolant Problem... Reply #2 – December 11, 2008, 01:28:32 AM That's good news. I have the A/C off of the car at the present time. Quote Selected
Slight Coolant Problem... Reply #3 – December 11, 2008, 01:39:16 AM I didn't have A/C the last time I did it and the first time I had a shop drain and refill it.I've heard that you can do the job without having to touch the A/C system, but I honestly don't know... Quote Selected
