I'm wanting to boos the comp ratio from 8.3:1 which is stock to somewhere around 9.0:1 or so.... had anyone else done this and if so what were the results?

Milling down the combustion chamber in the heads or replacing the heads with better ones will increase compression ratio. An increase in compression ration on its own however will not mean that you will gain a lot of horse power..........

With no other changes, you won't gain enough power to be worthwhile, plus you'll have to deal with altered valve train geometry(shim rockers, or inst shorter push rods)...
