Wtb Bad

Im in need of a timing chain cover for my 88' 3.8l mine is  cracked at the base were it meets the oil pan and im leaking oil. Please help

link up with daminc.,, he has his engine out and ready to part.  There is one single allen head screw in the lower corner of the cover, also there are two alignment dowl rods which makes it confussing if you "THINK" you have all the obvious bolts out.  If you dont know about the allen bolt, it will appear you are ready to pry the cover off,,number one reason why the covers get cracked in the first place.

Do yourself a timing gear set since your looking right at it.

yeah the person i purchased the car from had the cover off once before and did not know the bolt was there. well when i got the car it had timing issues so i pulled the distributer and set the eng back at tdc, well when i went to start the car it was missing realy bad. so i took of all the accessorys and the cover to find that the chain had alot of play in it and had jumped time by like five teeth. and thats also when i discoverd the cracked corner at that allen bolt.:burnout:

I'll check it out later. the front of the motor got whacked when it went down on to the pallet. It should be ok though.

Pretty much every panel on my 87 is new, rebuilt, or re constructed. :D

ive got one too. the v6 was pulled out about 3 weeks ago... just in case.
