Sorry I'm late on this one. I hope you all had a good Remembrance/Veterans Day. I'm curious if, in the States, you have the same 'moment of silence' tradition we do here in Canada. Every Remembrance day, at 11:11am, we stop whatever we're doing and just think in silence on the Veterans, mostly about WWII Vets. The silence lasts 2 minutes, and is a good way to get people to really think about the sacrifices made. It's like one of those moments where you can't get away from concentrating on something unpleasant. You're forced to deal with it. It caries almost the same importance as grace does on Easter (for the Christians, anyway).

Anyway, I just want to say thanks.

And to my Great Uncle Earl, who was injured on The Beach in Normandy, it was great seeing you out cutting down the hardwoods that got the beetle on Halloween. 87 years old, and still able to toss around a power saw. These men were made of something harder.
