Copper is about $1.00-$1.15 over here. A lot of s yards aren't even taking cars for s any more. They say the price has dropped so low it's not worth it for them to haul it on their trucks. Keep your copper for now-it should go back up-Hopefully.

here its about .50 cents a pound, brass is ten and alum. is 40, even sping cats dont bring any more than about 5 - 12 bucks. Last time i went to the syard ( which is usually stockpiled with metals and long lines for cashing in) was almost completely empty

Wow, I don't want to hear that. I took the remnants of a Fox Stang in a few weeks ago and got $200/ton for it. I have a Fox Bird ready to go right now and was hoping for at least $150/ton. I guess we'll see.

Correct.  As I work directly with s yards, providing them our shears, the steel mills have shut down, and aren't accepting s steel anymore.  The s yards do not want a mass inventory taking up space in their yard that won't get them any money, so they are at a standstill as well.  Which in turn has affected our sales.  Like a flip of a switch, our parts department has ceased to get any calls for any wear parts, monthly blanket orders, etc...  All because everyone panicked with the stock market in flux.

Lucky for me, we have enough backlog to last 6 months or so.  layoffs, are not a good thing.
