Need Advice....Bronco 2 November 04, 2008, 10:50:16 AM Okay heres the skinny. The Good: 89 Bronco 2, NO RUST, fresh paint, 100k or so on the Odometer, good tires, 2 spares along with the rear mounted one, extra trans, 2 extra diffs and a spare starter. The Bad: Misfires all through the RPM range (might be bad gas, it was sitting for a year, might be ignition parts) Rear brakes drag (drums, again because it sit) ABS and Brake Lights lit on the dash (likely a bad sensor or two) Clutch feels a bit weak, but that may be because of the dragging brakes. Starter GRINDS when you turn the key (it isnt engaging fully, or the starter gear itself is stripped. The Ugly: REBUILT SALVAGE title. Uh oh.....Dude wants a grand for it. I will be offering him a mximum of 500 bucks for it, after explaining everything.Technically, a branded title automatically puts it into the "Poor" category on KBB. I can see risking 500 bucks on this, but nowhere near a grand.KBB values:Excellent: $715 Good: $590 Fair: $365 Poor: N/AI think with a rebuilt salvage title, its a good offer for him if I say 500 bucks cash. I'd have to trailer it to a garage to get the brakes and misfire fixed before driving it anywhere. My buddie has a spot where we can work on it. No hope of re-sale with the title. and I just need it for a winter beater. What you do think? Pics:I offered him 450 last night. he sounded interested, but wanted the night to think about it. I won't go above 500 cash for it. Quote Selected

Need Advice....Bronco 2 Reply #2 – November 04, 2008, 11:48:57 AM 500 sounds spot on to me...title wouldnt matter to me as its not exactly a new vehicle and the value is so low already. that is if it looks to be solid and fixed correctly anyway. looks like a nice truck, certainly worth fixing it up. Need Advice....Bronco 2 Reply #3 – November 04, 2008, 11:52:43 AM yeah, the frame just had some very minor surface flaking at the front, all the body mounts look new, the rest of the frame is spotless. There is no undercoating on it (which will change of course)... all the normal rust areas on this truck are solid, no bondo. I hope he accepts..... this is the only way the bird is gonna get stored this winter! Quote Selected
