Elec. power steering?

so aside from an electric water pump on my bb. i was wondering if it would be possible to mount up an electric motor to my power steering pump, so that the only thing running off my motor would be an alternator?

To do what? Triple the load on your alternator?

im sure it can be done,, there just too little information to decide. what hp dc motor you running now and what are the current / wattage ratings? Also, what size alt you running now and what AmperHour battery do you have? (not cca).

I could not imagine any wiring less than #2 or #4 flex for this. (free air rating that is at 75degC.

Im gonna reach here and just estimate that the load of a power steering pump is 5 times greater than that of a water pump if not more. Running thinner non corrosive fluid in the ps pump might relieve that number. I run transmission fluid in my ps now and it works fine but it is however thicker than ps fluid.
